🧠 I've come to think of communication as a product.
When I put on my Product Manager hat, I ask:
👥 Who am I talking to? ➡️That's my User Avatar.
🛠️ What are they going to do with this information? ➡️That's the Use Case.
📦 How can I package it so it's helpful? ➡️That's the Design/UX.
For example, if I'm writing a functional spec, I'll provide a bit of context, then dive deep into requirements and acceptance criteria so the Devs know exactly what to build.
But if I'm presenting to an Executive Team, I’m not shipping a technical deep dive. I'll summarize the problem, pitch the business value of my solution, then ask for the resources I need to get it done.
When I treat communication as something I design for others, it's clear, concise, and effective.
Try starting with the User Story, then deliver a product that works.
